• March 7-8th marks the mid point of the Wisconsin State Council Knights of Columbus Bowling Tournament that we are co hosting with William Stephani Council 710 from Manitowoc. Our council has taken primary responsibilty for this weekend as well as March 21-22nd as well as April 4-5.

Each weekend we are responsible for 10-12 volunteers for each of two bowling shifts. The AM shift starts at 9 and runs until noon, then then PM shift starts at 12:30 and runs until around 4:00. Volunteers help with raffle sales, scoring and check in of the bowlers.

If you can volunteer to work any of the shifts please reach out to Brothers Ed VanderBloomen ednoreen@gmail.com or Dan Tegen dtegen@charter.net or Tony Sachse prince0711@charter.net we can get you set up to work and help our council make this event successful.

  • At our January 15th council meeting we welcomed our newest member Bruce Yungerman to our council as we conducted an Exemplification of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity which represents our newest degree format. Following completion of this degree which is conducted in public a Brother Knight is now a 3rd degree member of the order.

At this exemplification Brother Knights Thomas Boutwell, Thomas Rabideau, Daniel Parizek, Robert Griffie, and Thomas Mittnacht also advanced to the 3rd degree through completing this exemplification. Congratulations to all!

  • Each year the Knights of Columbus conducts our fundraising drive for those with Intellectual Disabilities, our Tootsie Roll Drive. Portions of the money raised by this fundraiser are returned to the local council to donate as they see fit. This year our council chose to support the Manitowoc County Miracles Special Olympics teams. This year our council raised over $2800.00 from our fundraiser and after expenses and the portion of the funds maintained by the Wisconsin State Council our council was able to donate $1964.00 to the Special Olympics team.

Our Worthy Grand Knight Mike Wojta presented our check to members of the team in January. Pictured below is our grand knight and members of the team.

  • This past Sunday members of the council and their spouses came together to serve Pancakes and sausages to members of the parish and the public at our Annual Pancake and Porkie breakfast. A great time was had by all and we actually just about ran out of food, so a great result. We are still waiting a final total but it looks like we raised over $1,000 to help fund our charitable works in the community. Check out some of the pictures below from the event.

  • Recently members of Knights of Columbus Council 1957 were able to donate 60 new winter coats to the Two Rivers Ecumenical Pantry (TREP) to provide to their clients in need of a new coat. The coats were donated as part of the Coats for Kids program which allows KC councils to purchase new coats at discounted prices.

As pictured below Financial Secretary Tony Sachse and TREP Coordinator Lynne Skarvan show off some of the 5 large boxes of coats delivered.

    Coats, Coats, and more Coats!!!
